[Schefter] Raiders are not paying any of Davante Adams’ remaining salary, per source. The Jets are assuming the balance of it.

Compensation:

[Schefter] It will be for a conditional 3rd-round pick that can go to a second-round pick, per source.

After Mike Williams' 0-3 last night, Joe Douglas can feel that boot on his ass and launches a hail mary to save his career and Jet's season by working overnight last night. It remains to be seen if this will save him or not.

Joe Douglas is 29-60 with the Jets. Not a single season above .500 and no playoff appearance. He is the one who needs to be fired not Saleh.

More fireable offense(or rather lack of it) was when he chose to keep Zach Wilson as QB1 after Rodgers went down 4 snaps into the season. Finishing 7-10 with no playoff appearance and wasted that Jets Defense.

Yup. I've said as much when Saleh got fired. The whole offense is his creation.

The whole offense is his creation.

imo Zach Wilson offense was his creation

The trades made after Rodgers joining the Jets feels more like its (GM and OC) QB Aaron Rodgers making the decisions and Douglas is just along for the ride.

This Adams trade just solidfies it for me.

What I mean is he brought Rodgers, and his OC Hackett. Not his "creation" per se because he's obviously NOT an OC and didn't craft the scheme, but that it was HIS idea to bring Rodgers and Hacket and that offense to NYJ along with skill personnel. He's responsible in entirety for building that offense and bringing that scheme to Jets. Now Davante trade is his hail mary to save his ideation. It's playoffs or bust for him. If Jets get to playoffs, and win 1 game, I think Douglass will save his ass. Short of that, he's gone.

I agree with you. My opinion is that, Rodgers since joining the Jets is heavily influencing his decisions.

Now Davante trade is his hail mary to save his ideation

Or Rodgers wanting his former WR back to lean on, so he can run the scheme(s) that he ran Green Bay.

If Jets get to playoffs, and win 1 game, I think Douglass will save his ass

One and done should get him fired.

Yup. Simply reaching playoffs isn't enough.

Interesting to watch the Raiders project stripped for parts but I think we knew that was coming once Derek Carr was tossed. They have a lot to figure out and it’s not the players.

[–] MelonYellow@lemmy.ca 1 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Stripped for parts? They only traded one player who requested to be traded lol

[–] garrett@infosec.pub 1 points 1 month ago

After sending off Derek Carr to watch him succeed under better leadership as well, only protecting Maxx Crosby from trade talks. But maybe you’re right and their true WR1… Jakobi Meyers will fill the void Davante left.
