More than year’s worth of rain fell in two days in south-east Morocco, filling up lake that had been dry for decades.

Inb4 reactionaries use this to pivot on climate change denialism rhetoric with all the subtlety and coherence of whether we're at war with Eastasia.

  • "Climate change isn't real" to
  • "Climate change isn't that big a deal" to
  • "Climate change isn't manmade" (you're kind of here now, but the idiots are collectively still catching up) to
  • "Climate change is good, actually, because the deserts are thirsty."

You know, innocent people also live there, right? It’s important that you know this.

[–] whostosay@lemmy.world 6 points 1 month ago (1 children)

I do know this. You're right and I'm just frustrated. It doesn't excuse it at all, I just wish there was an easy way for us to all mitigate the bullshit and get along.

"Climate change is good because humans don't do bad things because human society has made / will make me wealthy and I enjoy having status over and above those poors which I despise."

This comment is a mess. Formatting matters.

[–] TheTechnician27@lemmy.world 3 points 1 month ago

It was formatted deliberately in a way to make it feel like whiplash due to how abruptly their messaging has changed, but I hope this makes it more readable for you.

Can I hire you to write my comments for me? Pay's in thoughts and prayers.
