It means a story that is overblown and exaggerated and receives a lot of attention, but on closer inspection warrants no concern.

I made jokes regarding a possible Firefox 127.0.0.1, but this is rather messed up. I keep older copies of Firefox as I see it getting gradually more enshittified.

I'm currently using FF 125.3.0 on my phone, and 127.0 on my laptop. To hell with all this enshittification, I'll just either stick with older versions, or start exploring privacy focused forks..

Seems it is disabled by default in LibreWolf. I highly suggest that, especially over using older Firefox builds.
