For whatever reason this made me wonder if QR code principles could encode the same type of information in a few more traditional looking patterns. Like Norwegian woolen Marius sweaters. It would be a lot more useless fluff but might look good and be worth using in certain contexts.

But then again, why undermine a good standard?
