Meanwhile, Mike Braun's plan is for all of the states around us to collect that tax money instead.

Next door in Ohio we taxed the shit out of our weed and now nobody is buying any. We just go up to Michigan for it.

That is absolutely not even close to the truth. Why lie?

https://www.cincinnati.com/story/news/2024/09/09/ohio-recreational-marijuana-sales-top-50-million-in-first-month/75103355007/

Recreational marijuana sales in Ohio surpassed $50 million in the month since adults could start buying cannabis, according to new state data.

Direct link to the data- https://dam.assets.ohio.gov/image/upload/com.ohio.gov/DCC/DCC_Historical_Sales_Data.pdf

Not just that, but the taxes are actually lower in Ohio (15.75%) than Michigan (16%). Both have a 10% cannabis tax, but Ohio has a slightly lower sales tax.

Both are significantly lower than Illinois though.

Thank you for the correction. I'm just going on what those around me have been saying. It is very expensive though.

That I will definitely give you. From what I hear about MI (and someone correct me if I'm wrong) they were basically the same way and then prices fell as more competition came in, crop went up, etc. etc. Time will tell.
