The end of Dune Messiah as the end of Paul's story is a good place to stop.

I really really hope someone picks up Children of Dune and God Emperor of Dune as a follow up set of films.

Technically correct, as Dune Part One and Two are two halves of a whole, so Messiah is just a sequel. And I agree, leave while you’re at the top. It’s also right where they can end Paul’s arc. Maybe they can do Children of Dune as a tv series instead. Also, imagine God Emperor of Dune directed by Robert Eggers. lol

With the amount of the characters and the complexity of the storyline, they could milk the franchise for eternity and still be profitable.

But the question is how much is too much?

i don’t think quantity is the problem with star wars, it’s the quality.

They should change directors and aesthetics completely when they do the fourth book. Only Jason Mamoa is consistent.

Love Villeneuve. He knows it's unsustainable to keep quality with studio houses, execs, number crunchers. He delivered the first two films and has said from the begining finishing book 1&2 would be the dream.
