Ooh, self-burn! Those are rare*.

*Except for this fucking guy, who does it all the time

You forget that his conviction is unjust. He is being persecuted. However the in the entirety of criminal convictions he stands alone. Everyone else is clearly guilty because who would persecute anybody because of their race, or their beliefs, or because they look like someone else. That's just crazy talk. /s

The law, for conservatives, is only held against their enemies.

"Conservatism consists of exactly one proposition, to wit: There must be in-groups whom the law protects but does not bind, alongside out-groups whom the law binds but does not protect."

I mean, you SAY /s, but thats the image he's putting forward of how he legit thinks. Without the /s in his eyes...

The newspaper didn't realize it, but they did Trump a favor. He doesn't need to be consistent. To those who plan on breaking the law, hypocrisy is a virtue, because it signals to their allies that laws only apply to other people.

Brooklyn 99 was a wonderful show.

i hope there comes a point in my life where i can go an entire day without reading about this incompetent pluted bloatocrat saying something so paralyzingly stupid that it literally drives brain cells to self-immolate. but i'm not optimistic

[–] karashta@fedia.io 17 points 2 months ago

This so fucking much. I'm tired of seeing his stupid orange face and clown hair and hearing whatever his mouth vomits as his brain obviously disintegrates on camera.

This is poetic. I want it on a bumper sticker.

Not rich-people crimes like fraud and embezzlement! I just mean poor-people crimes, obviously!

[–] Doom@ttrpg.network 7 points 2 months ago (1 children)

Like homelessness and being queer, that's still a crime right?

Time to lead by example.

He doesn't notice does he...

[–] Rentlar@lemmy.ca 9 points 2 months ago

Ms. Leavitt, why don't you go pay NY Judge Merchan a visit, and tell him that?

[–] some_guy@lemmy.sdf.org 8 points 2 months ago

Bwahahahahahahahaha. Let's go get him and deliver him to the jail.

Here again is just bad reporting in a way that favors Trump. The headline should be pointing out that he's a convicted felon, and that he's hypocritical, and that he doesn't care what his staff say. And if that's not in the headline, it should certainly be in the first two sentences. Instead, the newspaper is expecting us to infer it based on the information they provide. That's basic bad journalism.
