In the US, May 1 is “Loyalty Day”, as it has been since the McCarthy era

Hmmmm, I wonder why they changed that
In that context it means employee loyalty.
May 1st colour being red is a nice subtle touch.
Japan has 勤労感謝の日 which is typically translated as "labor thanksgiving day" in English and is 23 November this year. We have no national public holiday on May 1st this year. I think it's possible for some of the Golden Week holidays to fall on the 1st technically, but I'm not 100% sure on that.
In mostly countries its called "worker day", labor day its used firstly in USA goverment for no respect the associate worker right
We celebrate ours on a different date in Australia because we got were the first in the world to get the 8 hour working day.
I always wonder how a commentation of something that happened in Chicago is celebrated around the world but not in the US
According to https://www.norden.org/en/info-norden/public-holidays-greenland May 1st in both International Workers Day and Anniversary of introduction of home rule. These are not public holidays, but provide time off under collective bargaining agreements. So Greenland should be striped Red, Green, Gray and one more color.
Lol thats truly unique
The map certainly isnt perfect. Austria for example should be yellow since we official just celebrate an ominous "state holiday" and nothing else. Which essentially was just a compromise in order to not anger the bourgeoisie back when it was made a holiday.
There's another observance on the first of May I learned from Jonathan Coulton
My wife (bless her sweet heart) for years thought the song said "outdoor cookin' starts today".
