Mind explaining it for the thick (like me)

[–] marduk@lemmy.sdf.org 2 points 2 months ago (1 children)

Sure thing! I thought it was the song Riot by Three Days Grace, which led me to believe the meme was prompting people to post the lyric "Let's start a riot," which could be against TOS depending on the forum, and could flag you by government agencies sweeping for keywords. But then I reread the image and now I have no clue what song it is... 🙃

Funny thing is I think I know the tune he's talking about but I have no idea what the name of the piece is or who composed it.

But it's one of the classical pieces that often gets used as background music for scenes showing fancy things. It's been on Looney Tunes, though that doesn't really help to narrow it down at all.

Vivaldi's Spring from Four Seasons?

I took a music appreciation class in undergrad that had us learn the names of many famous pieces and composers, but Looney Tunes really hooked it up with educating an entire generation on classical symphonic music. Had they included the titles and composers of the pieces in a corner of the screen when playing the music, we'd all be fancy-pants music connoisseurs without taking any college courses for it. There's a lesson in there somewhere. Imagine what else children could learn if what they find interesting is properly infused with educational material.

It's this seventies synthie pop song by some French artist.
