This is the first release of the community port of Descent 3, released as open source software under the GPLv3 license on April 16th 2024.

Had like 8 of us (old fucks) playing Descent in a 8x10 living room. 1 desk, the rest of us have 25 pound CRT monitors in our laps, extension cords everywhere, keyboards balanced on top… good times :-)

How is this related to Piccu Engine? Are they two separate ports of the released source code?

No idea, but the one I shared is the "official" one managed by one of the original Descent3 developers.
