I just received a text from (701) 922-7432 saying:

PUBLIC ALERT: We are confirming your voter file records. Please do not respond with any sensitive information, but do confirm whether your name and address is [full name] at [Street address]. stop = end

I see a recent r/Michigan post about it but not decisive mention of a scam or real campaign.

Your name and address ARE sensitive information to a random number. Reach out to your local government to confirm your registration and ignore this

I would say BEST case it's a scam.

Worst case, it's a political operative trying to get answers of "fuck you!" So they can then go to the secretary of state and try to get you removed from the voter roll as "unconfirmed".

I don't see a good way to respond here.

Assume it's a scam, don't reply, and risk someone challenging your status as a voter.

OR

Confirm the information and hope it's not a scam.
