This seems like a great QOL improvement. Cue someone smarter than me to drop in and explain why it's not and also is a security compromise.

Meh, security is always a balancing act with convenience. If you tilt too far towards security, your users will not be happy and they either won't use the feature or abandon the platform altogether. Tilt too far to convenience and your users become a target.

I'm confused, I've been an android user for more than a decade and it always shows as mass storage when I use the MTP.

Edit: Oh, they mean wireless.
