Was feeling alright this morning with a decent amount of energy. Starting exercising again on my work break but my office is not cooling me down enough.

Currently running a program (software dev) that's taking ages to finish so I feel like I'm not putting in enough effort but can't do much about it.

Going to paint some miniatures and play BG3 when I get home which is always good.

Overall I'd say pretty decent and an improvement over my last week :) Just trying to make small improvements to my daily life helps in a big way.

Really really good! I fixed literature.cafe and had an overall productive day today :)

Great news, thanks for your work!

That's great. Now that's an instance I sometimes feel like joining.

Thanks for your hardwork and dedication.

I should be out swimming. But I'm afraid of the people in the pool. So I'm being agoraphobic and staying inside

Why are you afraid of the pool people?

Sometimes I just get into a mood where I don't want to see other people. Trying to break myself of this habit

[–] jet@hackertalks.com 5 points 1 year ago (1 children)

I did the swim, only 4 people there.

Good for you! I get the desire to not see people, but yeah, the more you avoid it, the harder it is to re-engage.

Day just started (europe). Had a nice bike ride into work and enjoying a lovely coffee. Workload is minimal today.

So unless anything goes wrong, it is going to be a good day.

I had the day off. In-laws are visiting, and I get on well with them. We also had my mother and her husband over for dinner. I was stressing about hosting before they got here, but everyone seemed to enjoy visiting.

After everyone went home, I read for a while and played a little Valheim. I should probably be in bed already, but that's pretty normal. Tomorrow will be interesting; we've had some issues come up at work where it's not very clear how to proceed (yay corporate America). We're going to hash out an actual plan in the morning.

What are you reading?

Hope things at your work goes smoothly!

Thanks! It's been frustrating -- another team raised some (valid) security questions, but this whole thing is supposed to be a replacement for something we're already using, so WTF? And I haven't been able to get a manager to commit to anything concrete regarding this. I'm going to flip the script tomorrow and basically say "OK, Team X has a problem with us, so we're going to back out of this change regardless of how painful it is". Unless the manager is like WHOA WHOA WHOA, we'll go with that.

The book is His Majesty's Dragon by Naomi Novik. Basically "What if they had dragons during the Napoleonic wars?". I've really been digging it. I like history (and alternate history), fantasy in general, and protagonists I can really root for. This book has that in spades, and the writing itself is nicely entertaining :D I quite recommend it.

Oh... if it is security issues, you have no choice but to deal with it. It is always the higher priority for security issues, and you have to do it quick to prevent any issues that could happen. Hope you can deal with it and forget about it.

I am not good at history, but the book sounds interesting! Will definitely look into that! Thanks for the recommendation!

Fairly good, after hearing good news from one of my doctors. It's fairly personal so I won't go too much into details, but basically:

The doctor told me to perform some clinical exams. I did them and got worried about one of the things shown in the exam. Doctor told me to not worry about it because I got that thing since my childhood. That lifted a huge weight off my shoulders.

Sitting in a meeting call the whole day while it's about 30°C outside and the office is heating up.

I am hoping to be able to go to some sports classes in the evening, but it seems the meeting will take too long so that I might miss the classes.

[–] frozenmolar@feddit.uk 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Did you get the class in the end?

It annoys me sometime that the meetings do not end on time, it makes it difficult to plan things!

[–] tja@sh.itjust.works 2 points 1 year ago

Fortunately these kinds of meetings don't happen very often for me. But if it happens, I had already plans for that day 😅

Was very excited about something at work, but didn't get to do it today due to some other ad hoc issues, was a bit disappointed.

Got praised for my shoes by a pretty lady, and that made my day!
