I did but I only get on here to kill time at work.
I check in on reddit every once in a while via the app called Comet. It's definitely gone back to it's usual self but it feels more impersonal than ever now that I use Lemmy too.
I'm gonna say it's at least three
It depends on your definition of "dropped." Most people who moved from Reddit to Lemmy don't fall into the category of deleting their account and switching over 100%, rather Lemmy has filled the role of Reddit for most but not all of their browsing.
For years I have rallied against the dark forces working to consume Reddit's glorious mission statment but the minor inconvenience of a subpar app was just too much!
While I'm still in the process of closing down my Reddit account due to having a lot of useful saved posts. A big thing that has helped my switch is the my favorite Reddit client infinity got forked( or repurposed by the dev. I'm not sure which) into a Lemmy version called eternity, so the move in terms of app familiarity has been almost seamless. I do find quality posts and content in general is on a much smaller scale on here, but that has actually been a good thing for me as I now spend a lot less time on social media.
I actually caved in and remade a reddit acccount, yeah i feel dirty about it but i really mised the most niche comunities, specially the monster hunter one since the one thats here is more inactive than active. Though interactions are pretty terrible since the first coments i posted got downvoted and now im on negative karma and anytime i try to comment after that i get ignored. I think that account was shadowbanned so ill probably delete it and make a new one, but is not that important since i like to lurk more than interact with reddit since the discourse there is becoming more 4chany but without the with and censored af.
I will also mention that i made second one strictly for nsfw browsing on reddit, since the nsfw comunities on lemmi are surprisingly prudish on certain fetishes. Now im not into the most extreme shit but i really dont like that they dont allow certain stuff thats perfectly legal on the normal nsfw instances, like CNC is just a form of roleplay, why is it banned? But trans and femboy shit isnt with their whole penis chastity cages, they have plentyfull suply of that. Im not into neither of those fetishes and i dont kinkshame the lgbtq shit, but the only option to see shit thats not allowed (like cnc) would be to go to the extreme nsfw instances that thend to host legaly dubius shit like straight up real rapes and other stuff of the same variety that i rather not mention, and nobody whants to see that nor be exposed to it, so i rather go to reddit for porn, at least they dont kinkshame and i wouldnt be in danger of being put on a watch list.
I only use it once a week on a specific niche subreddit that hasn't migrated elsewhere. I may very occasionally browse a post or two if I'm bored, but I don't comment on or upvote anything outside that one niche subreddit. So I haven't 100% stopped using it, but my usage has dropped by a lot.
I check into Reddit once in a while, but I mostly hang out here now.
Me
Me. I never directly browse to it. If I end up on a reddit post from a google search on desktop, meh, I'll click the link. No chance in hell on mobile.
Reddit is such a shitshow now, I'm considering keeping my old account only to add fuel to the fire by insulting idiots. Let's burn the whole thing to the ground.
I go back every now and then to search the Cybertruck community for new posts, but that's about it.
I deleted my Reddit account some months ago. But if I knew how much toxic is Lemmy becoming into, I wouldn't come here either. Because right now I can't tell the difference between Reddit and Lemmy, to be honest.
When Sync came out I moved to Lemmy. Using that familiar and customizable software made the switch super easy. Nowadays I primarly browse Lemmy but tend to check Reddit for official movie discussions and gaming issues/help, rarely use the web client to that though. RedReader for mobile.
I still use reddit to vent frustrations about life in general. Anything serious/productive goes on Lemmy.
I did. At first week lemmy was kind of cool. All nerd and cool people. Then normies started to flood with their shitty political posts. So now it's like reddit just in smaller capacity.
Well I did, but the community in Lemmy is suffocatingly left leaning for me. So I had to go back to Reddit for fresh air. (Never have I thought I'd go back to Reddit because some other community is even more left, but here we are.)
