This friendship is officially tested.

[–] omgarm@feddit.nl 12 points 4 months ago

They should stream tonight, for the drama.

[–] Luvs2Spuj@lemmy.world 4 points 4 months ago (1 children)

Could be a spicy rest of the season

Almost certainly

I'm guessing Lando is flying home on British Airways tonight.

That was fun. If you like double moves, moves under braking, track limit violations, etc

[–] GreenEngineering3475@lemmy.world 15 points 4 months ago* (last edited 4 months ago)

did they just gift Russell a win???

[–] WaterSword@discuss.tchncs.de 13 points 4 months ago

Great race imo. Bummer the fight at the front ended in trouble like that, but it was very exciting!

[–] epygots@lemmy.world 11 points 4 months ago

Toto on the radio lmao

[–] l_b_i@yiffit.net 10 points 4 months ago

Well the stewards won't be deciding one and two now.

Well Oscar, will you take the gift Lando died for?

Edit- short vsc boooo

[–] Vinny_93@lemmy.world 9 points 4 months ago (2 children)

I think I'm just gonna take a nap. Wake me up when someone calls a safety car.

[–] Luvs2Spuj@lemmy.world 15 points 4 months ago (1 children)

I hope you woke up for the last stint

[–] Vinny_93@lemmy.world 2 points 4 months ago

I actually walked to the supermarket to get some chips and stuff and when I returned the gap was 0.5.

[–] hsr@lemmy.dbzer0.com 5 points 4 months ago (2 children)

3 stopper yet somehow nothing happening on track

[–] Vinny_93@lemmy.world 7 points 4 months ago (1 children)

Well that just took a really sharp turn

[–] omgarm@feddit.nl 3 points 4 months ago (1 children)

Norris and Verstappen = Rosberg and Hamilton, but in different teams.

[–] Vinny_93@lemmy.world -2 points 4 months ago (1 children)

Verstappen has turned into Hamilton and Lando has taken his role

[–] omgarm@feddit.nl 6 points 4 months ago (1 children)

Lewis became conflict avoidant in his later years, Max is willing to crash still. Different styles of defending.

[–] Vinny_93@lemmy.world 4 points 4 months ago (1 children)

Max's defending today was just 'oh let me veer left so you crash into me'

[–] omgarm@feddit.nl 3 points 4 months ago

Very entertaining combined with Lando's "you can't react to my move!" complaining.

[–] JJROKCZ@lemmy.world 1 points 4 months ago

Feel like Leclerc and Alonso both did 5 stops for some reason.

WTF is going in

Russell win?

Piastri is doing great! Really showing his skill!

[–] LittleWizard@feddit.de 7 points 4 months ago* (last edited 4 months ago) (1 children)

Man, I really would have liked to see how that battle between verstappen and Norris turned out on track. Max is defending too aggressive. But even if Lando would have come through, he would have had to make up his track limits penalty. This is really disappointing.

[–] krimson@feddit.nl 5 points 4 months ago (1 children)

I agree. I am a Max fan but not when he drives like this. I really hoped the “old” Max was a thing of the past but it seems he pops back up under extreme pressure.

[–] TheRealKuni@lemmy.world 10 points 4 months ago (1 children)

Nah, Max never matured. He just stopped being challenged. If he’s challenged, he reverts to full asshole. “I win or we crash.”

[–] ApexHunter@lemmy.ml 2 points 4 months ago

"Heads I win, tails you lose."

[–] wurstgulasch3000@lemmy.world 7 points 4 months ago (1 children)

Verstappen 10s penalty is not enough for costing lando the race that he would have won

[–] JJROKCZ@lemmy.world 2 points 4 months ago (3 children)

Lando still had that 5 second penalty for track limits, he might have got around max but who knows if he could’ve built a 5 second gap in like 5-6 laps

[–] wurstgulasch3000@lemmy.world 3 points 4 months ago (1 children)

Max also had a potential penalty pending for not giving the position back that he gained off the track. At least Jolyon Palmer thought so

[–] JJROKCZ@lemmy.world 1 points 4 months ago

Ended up not getting that, though we’ll never know if he might have had he not hit Lando

[–] BowtiesAreCool@lemmy.world 2 points 4 months ago (1 children)

It’s absolutely insane to me that they penalised a driver for locking up and handing the position back. What’s the point of racing?

[–] JJROKCZ@lemmy.world 2 points 4 months ago (1 children)

It should’ve been clear to a driver of his calibre that he wasn’t making that move, and even if he didnt realize that.. he had gone off three time already when F1 drivers are supposed to be of the calibre to stay on track. Once during a dive isn’t a big deal, the problem is he’d already gone off three times.

These guys should be able to stay in the lines at the peak of Motorsport and driving for millions of € a year

[–] BowtiesAreCool@lemmy.world 1 points 4 months ago (1 children)

If you’re opinion is to follow the letter of the law in that sense, how do you feel Verstappen didn’t even get a warning let alone a penalty for moving under braking?

[–] JJROKCZ@lemmy.world 2 points 4 months ago

He should’ve, feel like he didn’t only because the wreck happened, that they penalized him for, and his race was hampered enough that they didn’t add more on. Sometimes the stewards act like if your race is ruined due to X then they don’t need to enforce Y. I’m not sure I agree there

[–] urquell@lemm.ee 1 points 4 months ago

Now he has a grid penalty instead (I think)

[–] hsr@lemmy.dbzer0.com 6 points 4 months ago (1 children)

Death, taxes and Norris fucking up the start...

He is still learning how to start from the front.

[–] GreenEngineering3475@lemmy.world 6 points 4 months ago* (last edited 4 months ago) (1 children)

What happened to Red Bull pit crew

Max with a 6+ sec pitstop

Perez with a 8+ sec pitstop

[–] omgarm@feddit.nl 8 points 4 months ago

Unlucky for max that a bolt wouldn't fasten and then Norris was there so he couldn't drive off.

Perez had a 5s penalty so 8s is decent considering.

The Hans Zimmer anthem was a banger!

Love the drama between Gasly and Ocon. Glad to see some fighting on track too!

Go get him Lando.
