Definitely a red flag. Often, there is a huge discrepancy between the loyalty thay is expected from you and the loyalty given to you.

Not necessarily in a patriarchal one and guess what jobs resemble most.

In it's etymological origin, a Roman familia contains the father, wife, children and slaves. Basically all property of the father.
