Cocktails, the libationary art!

A place for conversation about cocktails, ingredients, home mixology, the bar industry or liquor industry, glassware - this is not an exhaustive list. If you think it's in some way related to cocktails it's probably fine.

If you post something you didn't create give credit whenever possible.

Pictures and recipes are encouraged when posting a drink as a standalone post. Example of an ideal drink post:

We love garnishes.

Remember the code of conduct, keep it nice. In terms of cocktails- specific etiquette that might be different from other communities:

Mentioning your blog, insta, website, book or bar is allowed, yes. For now at least, we do allow self-promotion. If it gets out of hand this might change.

A good post with a drink you don't like is still a good post! Try not to conflate the drink and the post or poster. If someone has a relevant title, gorgeous photo and clearly formatted recipe of what you consider a truly terrible drink, a comment is more appropriate than a downvote.

On that topic: Polite critique/reviews of drinks (or posts, images, etc.) is allowed here. Encouraged , even. It's a good tool for improving your drinks and content. Really, just be nice.

The rain lilies are happy, and I am enjoying the rain with a paper plane. So happy the rainy season has arrived at last.

What are y'all drinking?

This was last week's blueberry basil margarita.

Made the syrup with blueberries and agave and basil in a pot, heated and then strained.

2oz Espolon

1oz Cointreau

1oz lime juice

1oz syrup

Shaken and strained over ice in a salt rimmed glass

Garnish with fresh blueberries (which sorta sank), basil and lime wedge

I might go get the stuff to make one of those myself. I was just about to make a trip to the liquor store and have been feeling like a Paper Plane lately.

It's hot as hell where I am, though. I wish it was raining lol.

Hope you get your rain and your drink on!

I always double the bourbon, it's better. A one and done for sure, but tastes so much better to me.

Yesterday I had some icetea with Ukranian vodka and also tried icetea with dark rum.

The vodka is good stuff, but didn't fit the tea, the dark rum was way better.

But it just confirmed to me why I don't really drink alcohol during summer, I get too warm and are having trouble sleeping later.

My mint is going crazy so I had a mojito. I'm thinking julip for tonight.

The drinking should come after the parking, as is tradition

Lol, my daughter had the car, but our driveway is an odd shape, that's not the road.

I went with a classic Moscow Mule tonight. Been a while since I've had one and I love the bite of the ginger beer.

Raining again! I am going to make this, but am completely out of tequila so probably substitute bourbon (or maybe leave it out), and my tepache doesn't need sweetener. So I guess not exactly making this, but tepache and mezcal, anyway.
