Following the German @ZDF and @tagesschau, the BBC is giving Mastodon a go through their own server. You can now follow the official @BBCRadio4 and a few other accounts on social.bbc!
Nice, more official instances/accounts are the best potential catalyst for mainstream adoption.

Can I go there without a TV license?
Yes you can. A TV licence is only for if you watch live TV or use BBC iPlayer.

Offizielle ARD und ZDF? Super nice, gleich mal schauen. Aktuell folge ich da nur irgendwelchen inoffiziellen Bots.
Es treibt mir eine Freudenträne ins Äuglein, dass zur Abwechslung mal was sinnvolles mit den GEZ Beiträgen gemacht wird.
Jetzt nur noch abwarten bis kommerzielle/werbegestützte Social-Media-Anbieter gegen öffentlich-rechtliche wegen Wettbewerbsverzerrung im Bereich der Sozialen Medien klagen.
Berechtigter Einwand, eine Plattform für Microblogging, die demokratischen Grundsätzen folgt und nicht Hass für Klicks propagiert, würde ich sogar noch im Informationsauftrag sehen. Viel mehr als bspw. das ganze Rentnerentertainment.
