Have we learned nothing from Jurassic Park? Why not get started on the T virus next so we can have giant mutant zombies too?

I don't care any more. It's not like the world could be more fucked. Wooly mammoths, I'm here for it.

Seriously though, between climate change's heating, the tornadoes and the wildfires a lot of species are toast. And if we want to bring carbon back under control at this point (with the sea now releasing it instead of containing it), we'll need some kind of genetically engineered plants. So, given all these things, there's no reason to say no to mammoths, bring it.

Is it weird I want to eat one?

Mammoth is up there with triceratops on my "I wanna eat that" list. It's not weird.

My take: They only want to make them so they can sell mammoth steaks and burgers

They want to recreate an ice-age mammal during record global warming. That’s smart.

There's no possible way this could ever go wrong.

It's all fun and games until they come back meaner and more bloodthirsty than history could even imagine.

Well, it was supposed to be humor... I guess next time I won't forget the /s.

This is of course after numerous attempts to use both pig and elephant DNA simultaneously and well, we all know the deal with that.

[–] eltimablo@kbin.social 1 points 2 years ago

Not soon enough
