Because people can view the global timeline there? Wouldn’t it make sense to only show their local timeline and disable the global one? At least they’re not making the mistake of letting people sign up there

You can't fault the British Broadcasting Corporation for making a poor acronym choice back in 1922. Just look at Ayds, the weight reducing diet supplement.

British Broadcasting Corporation. A non-profit making, publically funded TV corporation in the UK. Is run according to public service guidelines. Known for its quality sports, documentary and news coverage. Considered by many to be overly liberal and have a pro-Arab, anti-US/Israel slant in its news reporting.
