Nightwish featuring Tarja. It is nice to listen to the "peak" of their vocalists. Her voice does fit the band's sound. It is all about the contrasts. And you can hear her (by then) classical training.

This was the first song I've ever heard from them, or of power metal in general, and it blew open my world!

So I'm not the only person to believe that symphonic metal is a subgenre of power metal?

To me, it really seems to belong to it, but at the same time, I'm not well versed in technical knowledge about music, so I'm not too confident.
