I remember seeing someone saying this anime can has sad ending and this episode agrees. But it is nice to see girls growing up and having different aims now. Mahiru wants to improve herself by challenging a larger stage. Kanon really needs to figure out why and for whom she is singing for now.

I don't think the end-ending will be sad, at least, but it's going to be a difficult road to get there. Episode 9 is the breaking point, so I'm guessing episode 10 is the fallout, episode 11 the reconciliation and episode 12 the return and triumph. So the next episode will be a LOT of pain, which will make the episodes after feel SO much better.

Ugh this episode hurt so much T^T

I got really bad vibes from Yukine when she was meeting with Mahiru. Not that she was lying or anything, but that her presentation was designed for the express purpose of wow-ing Mahiru more than a normal commission for an event, like she has an unfair advantage in the negotiation. After this job, it's clear that Mahiru would have a much larger following and more offers, which would make JELEE take an even lower priority.

Even if this has nothing to do with Kano, it really feels like it's a combo attack on all her vulnerabilities.

When Mahiru told the others about the job and Kano started freaking out, I kind of saw the blow up coming but I completely didn't expect her to say those things. Mahiru's crying face was just so heartbreaking after all their experiences together.

This is a really well made story. Also fuck dramatubers.

Edit: after thinking about it for a bit, yeah I hate Yukine. She sees her daughter as nothing more than a tool to achieve her ambitions. I don't see that as an achievement to be celebrated if this is how she gets there.

Maaaan, what an episode... I expected there to be drama but that hit me more than I thought. Like, my mouth was just agape the entire time at the end when Kano just blew up. I feel bad for her :(
