Reds release manager David Bell 1 year after a 3 year contract extension, and 1 week before the end of the season.

I agree with this article. He's not the real issue. Maybe one of them but not the only one by far.

And how dumb- just let him finish it out. What good does it do firing him with 5 games left? Just reads like an asshole move by the FO. Which given the assholes at the top, why should we be surprised.

He was a problem. He wasn't THE problem. Owners inability to retain high profile talent because we're cheap or "small market" as they like to say.

Yeah, that firing him the last week thing is lame and seems personal. Just let him finish.

Maybe they'll do something before I die. Either of old age or agony of having to watch us careen from rebuild to rebuild without hope in between.
