In Capitalists America the ambulance service rides you

In Capitalists America you aid the health care

Maybe not so much the last one? I'd say in other countries with free healthcare "we" would aid health care through taxes. I get your joke though haha.

Do people in the states pay taxes to health care?

Hey I'll have you know that in Australia an ambulance can cost >$1000 without insurance!

The problem is so serious that they run seminars in schools telling students to not hesitate calling for ambulances, because human lives are worth more than $1000.

Fair enough. I'm pretty sure it costs something where I live, but everything else would be free.

You're also not legally required to pay medical bills in the states.

[–] BreadOven@lemmy.world 1 points 1 month ago (1 children)

I'm not from there, but I guess you'd have to give fake information?

[–] Psythik@lemmy.world 2 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Nope you have to give your real info. But the worst they can do is send debt collectors after you, which you can easily ignore.

Doesn't it affect your credit score or something? I would think there would be some repercussions? Interest on the amount you owe?
