I watched The Lighthouse with my dad a few years ago and I think that was the most awkward movie watching situation I've been in. We decided to watch it because it had Willem Dafoe on it, a positive rating, and it was on a streaming service he had. It's not really a spoiler but the movie has multiple scenes with a focus on masturbation. Neither of us turned it off because we kept assuming that was the last of it and we would have had to get up for the remote.

I don't know how bad it got because that's when I turned it off

Why though? It's pretty good.

Opening with a closeup of Willem DaFoe pounding away at Charlotte Gainsbourg just seems kind of gratuitous, I'm not really into that.

If it helps, his dick was too big to be believable so they used a body double (a dick double, if you will).

Imagine being cast for that role and then saying, "excellent, your dick is small enough for this".

Ever watch porn? Even if not sex is a thing that happens all the time, and that movie is all about pushing boundaries. I don't think anyone should be disgusted by sex.

Some people are, though, and it’s not a moral failing.
