Get a referral to a psychiatrist. It'll take a while so book an appointment today to request the referral. Let your doctor know you want to do things right by getting a full evaluation with a psychiatrist and clarify you know it could take a while but its been on your mind for a while and you want to get the ball rolling to check things out.

With the private stuff, it might work, it might not, but its going to be enormously expensive and its ironically less simple than doing as I mentioned because its becoming an industry that doesn't necessarily want to sell the cow, or will milk the shit out if you. In another sense, you need fewer options rather than more and the psychiatrist route is the most straightforward
