Have just replaced the super convoluted Spotify process for getting local files to my phone with Plexamp.

Straight up streaming into CarPlay.

Well done Plex.

I did this a while, got fed up with not having any new music, got myself Tidal through Plex. You can use Tidal with Plexamp and you get a small discount when you get Tidal through Plex.

A solution is also to download new music every morning... And end up having terabytes of flac to manage in a few years.

Still worth it. And now the plexamp random playlist starts to be very interesting.

Thing is I like to stay in a certain style or genre when listening to music (Plex has a nice feature with moods though). I ended up making a library per broad genre of music and just randomising all when listening. Even that gets old.

@Vinny_93 @plex 3/4 of family won’t move from Spotify so unless I double up on subs I’m back where I started with Apple and Spotify. Good tip though and I will have a look.

I'd prefer to use Tidal in Plexamp, but not all Plexamp features are available to Tidal users and that kills it for me.

Not all Tidal features are available to Plexamp either. Track radio for instance.

Yes! It makes Tidal on Plexamp such a hard sell because you're missing features on both sides. I don't understand why they did that, but okay.
