You consider housekeepers to be beneath you?
If they would be working for me there is a clear hierarchy. Being shitty to them on top of that is just cruel.
In this scenario you aren't their boss, you're just leaving farts in the bed to ferment and they happened to break the hermetic seal.

Please, I have been nothing but nice. I have been treated badly by people for working under them. There is a clear hierarchy of power between a boss and an employee.
No, from your words alone I can tell you're in a position where you have people under you, and you believe they should "know their place".
