You definitely will. This requirement effectively bricked my OG Quest since I refuse to have anything to do with Facebook. I really need to look into side-loading and/or firmware projects around it. They broke the promise that they would never require a Facebook account and somehow the justice system said, yeah, but this is a Meta account, so it's all cool...
