I hate how empty and lifeless they made the villagers in the latest one.

ACNH was my first animal crossing game, but when I got a 3ds I picked up wild world and new leaf. I dropped wild world after a few weeks (likely because I set the clock correctly rather than offset and I'm a vampire), but I did genuinely enjoy the sass from some of the villagers. I'm still playing New Leaf daily and the villager dialogue is definitely better than NH (the villager dialogue doesn't feel repetitive yet although I'm kinda sick of Timmy and Tommy, there's not a "Maglev Mike" line yet) but the villagers largely lack the sass of WW, and that's disappointing.

Yeah, I don't know if they were concerned about people thinking they were being berated by animals constantly or what, but New Leafe was definitely the beginning of them sanitizing the villagers' attitudes. Wild World was my first AC game and I played it constantly for at least a year, but New Horizons lost my attention after two weeks.
