For some reason, that's extremely offensive to me, even if they worked flawlessly.
it's definitely dystopian, but I still kinda want one for a view from my desk
It would be great for inner or basement office spaces where windows just can't happen. And if it projects a bit of UV light, with a video of the sun that moves with the real time, it would be even better.
Though, I'd also argue that would make it a poorly designed building.
Why would one want it to emit UV? We can't see it, and it damages us.
Because some UV light is healthy for us. We generate vitamin D and it's good for our mental health to have sunlight.
People in places that don't get sun for parts of the year have UV lights to help keep them sane.
