The Doors begin their run as the house band at The Whisky a Go Go, opening for every group to play there from May 23 to August 21, 1966. For most dates, they performed two sets per night.

Not only is this poster art amazing and ahead of its time imagine what it would be like to have seen them there. The songs they were performing were their very best. Break on Through, Alabama Song, Light My Fire, Backdoor man, The End. Fucking amazing. I love the Beatles but if you went to their earliest shows you would just get cheesy love songs. This is a recreation in 1995 of an original poster seen by the poster artist in a photograph. I wonder how close to the original it is.
