There's a lot of fake nazi artifacts out there, people have been making it since the 50s, if not earlier. So there's a market for "certified" authentic stuff.

I mean, collecting only nazi stuff is weird. But I'm into history and if I had a bunch of other older military things I wouldn't think it was weird to have an old nazi badge or something. Not to praise it or anything but it's a real part of history.

Knew someone who collected wwii militaria, including Nazi stuff. Claimed that some tiny shoulder or lapel badges were worth close to 6 figures.

Even if they were wildly exaggerating on value, it makes that stuff an easy way to move large amounts of money undetected.
