Trucks cost 100K because that's what people are willing to pay for them. Trucks are the single most profitable platform for american auto manufacturers (i.e. they cost less to develop and build than other platforms and/or fetch the highest price) regardless of what new doodad or dongle they slap on it hoping to entice the same customers to come back next year.
