I've seen tons of people (rightly) point out that playlist armors rarely get used. But that's not the point. The whole point is the blatant lie. If they knew it wasn't worth it then they shouldn't have committed to delivering an armor set each year.
I agree they should've at least communicated it well in advance. I think it would've gone better if they said it before Lightfall dropped and explained how it was too infrequently used to be worth it.
Honestly though we need a bit of an armor rework. There's no reason to keep other armor pieces once you've gotten a good roll in a slot. After that it's completely cosmetic. The only exceptions really are Iron Banner for reputation and raid armors for their corresponding raid mods.
