So two-part question here:

If you've played Watch Dogs: Legion, did you like it?

And especially, did you like it for the story?

This makes me think the game is not primarily about the story: https://opencritic.com/game/7405/watch-dogs-legion

I played WD2 and enjoyed that quite a bit though never finished it.

I want the next game I play on my PC (via Steam, etc...) to have a great story. Recommendations greatly appreciated.

Other games I've played with what I thought were great stories: Psychnoauts 2, Portal 2, Soma (though I'm not really into scary games), Firewatch, Metro all, The Talos Principle

Cheers,

by law i have to mention Disco Elysium. one of the best modern CRPGs you could ever play. its story and setting is fantastic. don't buy it pirate it if you can the developer studio fell prey to a hostile takeover scheme and the original developers were forced out, they won't see a cent of it.

don't know anything about watch dogs legion though it seemed like your average ubisoft triple A (aka shit) so i haven't played it.

Something about DE's interface seemed kind of... off putting to me but it sounds like I should check it out. I'll go watch someone play it the first few minutes. Thanks

the first few minutes is a lizard voice monologuing in a black void lmao. you are definitely not going to play it for its gameplay value.

I want to add, it took me a while to warm up to Disco Elysium, but once I got past a day or 2, I ended up being compeled into its world.

It is probably one of the best games of failure not impeding progress and baring a few mission critical paths, it is a game where failure can have a more entertaining outcome than success.

Although there is a "Golden Path" to success, there is a lot of variance to get the there.
