It looks like a wise squirrel to me :). I don't know much about photography, but it's interesting to me how the clarity/blurriness isn't constant across its face: right eye looks very clear, nose/mouth so-so, and left eye very blurry. I wonder how much of that is regular photography versus software/AI image-capture enhancements, trained on human faces, that aren't working too well here. Thanks for sharing!

Wise squirrel indeed!

Boring answer but it's all software enhancement haha. My phone (OnePlus 5) comes with a "portrait" mode where only the foreground is kept clear and the rest is blurred. I assume that's done through software but I could be wrong. I like it for squirrel picture as it makes them stand out a little more! I'd love to actually learn and practice photography, but I have other hobbies I'm prioritizing for now.

I think you're probably right that it's software, especially if "portrait mode" provides better results than other modes. I have some pics of my cat with red eye, and I'm curious to see whether the human-red-eye-reduction tools will work with cat eyes :)
