it's referring to people freaking out theres some lead in the material of water bottles being sold. from the Stanley website tldr is not an issue unless the cup is damaged. It's not limited to their cups and many other brands do the exact same thing.

That "industry standard" line is pure weasel wording in my view.

But everyone else is using lead too!
