Meh. I'm burned out on retelling the same stories using live action. What would get me actually excited is a new Avatar story.

This was exactly my reaction. What does swapping out beautifully expressive animation for awkward child actors and decent-but-bland-CGI do to improve on the original?

I would support an HD remake of the original. It's clearly a bit dated, not to mention the book 1 digital releases have really strange artifacts.

16:9 AR, higher resolution and animation quality similar to Korra would be great.

yeah, that's a fair take on it. I was hoping they were going to an original story too when I first heard about it.

I mean thats happening too. There's an animated series about the avatar after Korea coming in 2025. There's also an animated movie following the aang as an adult coming out around the same time
