Isn't this... A huge break from traditional Chinese foreign policy?
Calling for the sovereignty of a de facto independent state? I don't see how this statement could be made unless a huge leap has been made in cross-Strait relations with Taiwan. Maybe Lai's statement on the DPP not pursuing de jure independence was enough, which is significantly different from Tsai's posturing.

China also isn't literally blockading Taiwan (which, in case you forgot, is an act of war).
The democratic world is helping Israel blockade Gaza and starve thousands. I think the democratic world is probably hypocritical and racist.
