Well no sign of the cops, and just got the word the other party intereted in the unit's raised the bid by $10k, so yeah.

Fucking hell, you need to win lotto one of these days to balance out your bad run. I really hope that other bidder backs off and the house comes through for you... Will you have another car available soon?

Other bidder is being aggressive so I'm sitting on things for the rest of the weekend.
My insurance includes a hire car and I'll see if my mechanic has a loaner or something for sale.
