Lmao that is a wild point of reference, buddy.
People are still driving land yachts from the 70's?
No, they're driving modern urban assault vehicles though.
Urban planning for what is needed by the majority rather than demanded by the few.
Parking and roads in general are examples of induced demand.
Chances are whatever the size of the average parking space, people would buy cars too long or wide for them.
More like people being called out for blocking roads because there's more of them. If you can't park in a space, park somewhere else.
If parking is difficult as a result, buy a smaller car or accept you're often going to walk further.
The average size of car has risen. That's not automatically something we have to accommodate. The people who bought larger cars always used to live with the consequences and should continue to.
From someone defending big cars because some of them are old and doesn't understand the simple problem is they're becoming more common.
Look up "tragedy of the commons"
Do you not see how it applies?
If they literally take up more space than everyone else, then they're not paying their fair share unless we charge them more for parking.
It doesn't matter how much you pay for other things. Smokers and drinkers pay more tax on a relative scale, they don't get to take up more space on an airplane unless they buy another seat.
Motorcycles are charged less.
Human rights don't apply to parking.
And I'd be interested if the Human Rights were ruling against oversized passengers on airlines being charged extra for taking up more space.
I'm not lying at all.
Sorry you live in a silly place. Doesn't change the argument.
You can state irrelevant facts only true for a city or two if you like. You just end up wrong.
I've got nothing to rebut from you.
I've stated my case simply and you can't find a relevant rebuttal.
I don't think you understand, different places have different prices for parking. Where I live bikes get charged less.
It's quite simple. Don't take up more space than provided.
If you want more space, park somewhere else.
You'll quickly find out how little people care about a minority of people with stupid vehicles, making stupid decisions by buying them, not being able to park conveniently.
Those people can take their business and nuisance elsewhere and the town will probably be better off as a result.
Someone in the past thirty years?
Parking lot sizes here (de) are growing with the growing car sizes. The idea is that 85% of registered cars of similar type will fit, right now for 'regular' cars, the reference vehicle is a 2019 audi a6. Of course that does not mean that all the already existing parking lots have to be rebuilt, that would be crazy.
edit: i assume there are similar regulations in north america.
Sorry, should have been more clear.
de = Deutschland / Germany, Denmark would be dk i believe.
Thanks Sagifurious, this person knows his trucks. But provides little to the conversation with their straw man fallacies, and troll like rebuttals.
A great example of a blockable account.

Blocking doesn't happen instantly because of cached data in your browser, but it is very effective.
