I would not be surprised if Iran is involved, but that article and this one are talking about different sorts of missiles.

The ones used to hit the Norwegian chemical tanker here were cruise missiles:

We received additional information about what struck the ship as well as the location of the attack. The Strinda was hit by a land-based cruise missile about 60 nautical miles north of the Bab el-Mandab.

The ones that came down near the US destroyer in that article were ballistic missiles:

A U.S. military official told The War Zone that the Pentagon is still trying to determine whether the USS Mason was directly targeted by the ballistic missiles and is also looking into what kind of ballistic missiles were fired.
