Probably just me being a little grumpy after getting a phone call from Southern Water, but it feels a little unreasonable that I only get billed every 6 months (I can't make it more frequent), and they expect a random amount to be settled within the week.

I got a bill last week and I'm already recieving phone calls because I'm "late", even though it's only the first, since now it's payday I'll pay it but I'm not happy with the harassment.

Same with a lot of companies. They only want to talk to you when they want money - but you need something? 'We are experiencing a high number of calls' or 'Thank you for your email, we aim to reply within 14 days'.

It's not even that they want money, I expect that the Water Companies want more money so they can payout for pollution charges. It probably doesn't help that for some reason I have Southern for waste water and Thames Water for tap water, but it just seems to be the slightly unreasonable timeframe that they send a bill and then start to nag.

Sure, if they sent it monthly they might expect a slightly more timely payment than quarterly but even the I would expect that a week would fall under a reasonable timeframe. Every 6 months? ๐Ÿ˜
