Same with a lot of companies. They only want to talk to you when they want money - but you need something? 'We are experiencing a high number of calls' or 'Thank you for your email, we aim to reply within 14 days'.
It's not even that they want money, I expect that the Water Companies want more money so they can payout for pollution charges. It probably doesn't help that for some reason I have Southern for waste water and Thames Water for tap water, but it just seems to be the slightly unreasonable timeframe that they send a bill and then start to nag.
Sure, if they sent it monthly they might expect a slightly more timely payment than quarterly but even the I would expect that a week would fall under a reasonable timeframe. Every 6 months? ๐
