Ha, I strongly believe that this sort of extremely-local story is critical for any extremely-local community!

Also, this damn bridge has got to be a metaphor for just about everything about this city...

In particular the NIMBYism that prevented it from being connected to Harrow back then. That would have changed the navigation of the city quite a lot. Times change, but people don't.

Part of the original design plan for Arlington was that it would continue across the river with a bridge there as well, creating a north south corridor there.
