MODERATORS

Afternoon everyone,

I wanted to go over a few points related to pricing, stats and the roadmap

Pricing

  1. Sync for Lemmy is completely free with ads (the same as Sync for Reddit)

  2. You can remove ads in the account picker or drawer for a one time fee of ~$20

  3. Sync Ultra also removes ads but it's not required

  4. I'll be working on regional prices over the coming weeks

There are now 24k installed users up from 100 the previous day!

I'm going to be spending the next few days going through all of the comments / messages and fixing any crashes.

As always thanks for the support and hope you're liking Sync!

Lj

Going to have a stab at regionalising ad free now.

Reply to this with your country and I'll regionalise the pricing there.

India.

1700 rs is just impossible to justify where the median salary is 900rs per day

[–] fixmbr@lemmy.world 11 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago)

Yikes. That's as if Sync for Lemmy cost 250€ where I am.

[–] Foreverwinter@lemmy.world 20 points 1 year ago

Canada Eh! 🍁

Why the laugh? Did I miss something obvious?

[–] sabreW4K3@lemmy.tf 12 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago) (1 children)

The developer is from the UK. That's the one price he's confident of.

[–] Gazumbo@lemmy.world 4 points 1 year ago

Ohh! πŸ˜‚πŸ™ˆ I assumed he was American/Canadian for some reason.

[–] Swarfega@lemm.ee 5 points 1 year ago (1 children)

What's the current UK price? I paid Β£12.99 which I figured was reasonable given the amount I used Sync for Reddit.

[–] Gazumbo@lemmy.world 4 points 1 year ago (1 children)

It's Β£18.99. Is the Β£12.99 you paid converted to GPB from your own currency?

Malaysia, because that's 2 weeks of my lunch money.

[–] randomperson@lemmy.world 12 points 1 year ago (2 children)

Poland. It's within EU but it's not even remotely comparable to western Europe in terms of wages.

[–] nudnyekscentryk@szmer.info 9 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago)

Nominally we pretty much make in PLN what Western Europeans make in EUR, except PLN is worth like 4 times less, so it's 4 times more expensive in terms of wages and cost of living to us :c

turkey. Also while im at it could you maybe add some more font sizes? I want smth between extra large and huge. If we could select a specific number that would be even better. Props for the well designed app and can't wait for the future (งツ)ΰΈ§

Sri Lanka, please. And thank you for your hard work. Seeing your Sync for Lemmy announcement in-app in Sync for Reddit is the reason I joined Lemmy.

[–] dungnguyen10@lemmy.world 8 points 1 year ago

Vietnam...thank u for the app :)

[–] hogart@lemmy.world 7 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago)

[–] SwellowTheSun@lemmy.sdfeu.org 4 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago)

Brazil.

Are you also localising Ultra prices?

[–] onde@jlai.lu 3 points 1 year ago
[–] _I_@lemmy.world 3 points 1 year ago

Norway, please. The weak Norwegian Krone is kicking our ass here against the Euro, US dollar and GBP. The quoted $20 is $25 here.

[–] serenity@lemmy.world 3 points 1 year ago

I'd say for Estonia it's too expensive. I got it for 15 though.
