The idea is that they do not need to be secret, they have what they need now they're collecting perjurious statements to add to convictions.
Ah, that makes sense then. Thanks for explaining.
It's a very small community, rumors that persist are generally credible and the fact that it was by policy inhabited by males only until like 1969 or something doesn't help.
