I used Sync for reddit, and I've been using Connect for Lemmy. Is Sync for Lemmy better than Connect?
Connect for Lemmy was pretty good but Sync for Lemmy feels like home.
I've been jumping between Connect and Liftoff. I prefer Connect. I've been trying out Sync today and I still gotta say I like Connect better. No ads. No subscription to unlock the best features. I was a Boost user on Reddit so we'll see if I jump ship over there whenever Boost for Lemmy gets released. Maybe that will feel like home to me.
Sync is very well done though.
Another waiting on boost. Sync is pretty good though. Not gonna lie.
I find it a tad smoother, but I didn't really have complaints with Connect either.
I might be a little biased, because I used sync for reddit for 8 years. But sync is worlds better than connect.
Connect is awesome. The fact that it is only a month old and that good is honestly mind blowing and it's totally free with no premium options or ads. I have really enjoyed using it up until now.
I'm a previous Sync for Reddit user though and I do love the app. The customisation options are insane. I can literally make it look and act exactly how I want, even down to things like specifying download locations for pictures, whether they go into subfolders by community, whether pictures show up as media files in your gallery or are hidden, the spacing between comment lines, etc.... It's also customisable by account if you have multiple accounts, so all of this can be different or the same for each account.
So once you spend some time setting it up, it almost feels like you've designed your own interface/app.
It's hard to beat.
