Don't know what you want to say, but dictatorships certainly pose such a threat.

I think the commenter was alluding to the fact that democracies like the US have supported regime overthrows that ended democracy for several countries

That's true, and nit only for the US. I just don't see what that has to do with the linked article, that's a different story.
