Is it though? Israel is allowed to defend itself against Hamas. No doubt about that. However, they perpetuate the climate in which groups like Hamas thrive. You can't put people on a small strip of land which is basically an open air prison and be surprised when groups like Hamas start to get into power.
You can remove Hamas or an adjacent group but as long as you keep those very same circumstances in place a new group will rise.
